DILI — Furthering its momentum in school-based youth development, the Timor-Leste Cricket Board (TLCB) conducted a vibrant multi-day cricket training camp last month at Eskola Villa Verde.
The camp drew a huge turnout of enthusiastic students, turning the school grounds into a hive of athletic activity. Qualified TLCB development coaches led structured sessions introducing participants to essential skills, including proper batting posture, target-focused bowling drills, active fielding techniques, and fundamental match rules.
Designed to encourage athletic participation and foster physical fitness, the clinic provided student athletes with an engaging hands-on experience of the game while fostering leadership, teamwork, and fair play.
“The remarkable attendance and high energy shown by the children at Eskola Villa Verde reflect the expanding popularity of cricket across our local schools,” TLCB representatives stated. “School clinics remain the bedrock of our development plan, allowing us to discover prospective young talents and introduce them to organized sport early.”
With high participation numbers recorded across all recent school venues, TLCB will maintain its institutional outreach by establishing ongoing coaching modules and local inter-school competitive fixtures.
