DILI, TIMOR-LESTE — Pushing forward with its mission to expand youth sports participation, the Timor-Leste Cricket Board (TLCB) hosted another vibrant grassroot training session today, August 29, 2026, at Kaixas Bemori Eskola in Dili.
The event marks another step in TLCB’s continuous efforts to embed cricket into local schools, introducing young students to fundamental athletic skills, team building, and the core spirit of the game.
Hands-On Youth Coaching
Led by certified TLCB coaching staff, the day’s sessions were tailored specifically for student engagement, combining technical guidance with interactive physical activities. Participants took part in a varied range of practical exercises aimed at building athletic confidence and game familiarity:
- Core Technical Basics: Introductory coaching on correct batting stances, grip mechanics, and basic bowling actions.
- Fielding & Coordination Drills: High-energy routines focused on spatial awareness, catching techniques, and quick reaction times.
- Mini-Matches: Modified practice games designed to teach rule fundamentals, pitch positioning, and effective team communication on the field.

Strengthening Local Sports Pathways
By taking training sessions directly into primary and secondary schools like Kaixas Bemori Eskola, TLCB continues to establish a reliable pipeline for discovering and nurturing young talent across Dili.
